The Cressi Apnea suits a pure freediver when the SEAC Camo's spearfishing aesthetic doesn't fit their use case. It's a cleaner-looking suit with a cut specifically designed for depth diving: wider chest, open-cell interior, two-piece design with core overlap.
The chest cut is the distinguishing feature. Where generic wetsuits use the same panel across chest and back, the Cressi Apnea's chest panel provides measurably more room for full lung expansion, important for maximizing the pre-dive breath that's your oxygen source for the entire descent.
The plain black exterior is a visual downgrade from the SEAC's Supratex durability but irrelevant for most freediving conditions. For boat diving and calm shore entries, the standard neoprene exterior lasts appropriately. For heavy rocky-shore use or combined freediving/spearfishing, the SEAC is the more practical choice.
